Workshop Scope

The 2nd edition of the Workshop IEEE@Unical aims to create a scientific/technical venue at the University of Calabria (Italy) where national and international researchers working in different IEEE areas can meet and attend invited lectures from distinguished professors and IEEE officers.

IEEE is the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for the benefit of humanity (https://www.ieee.org/about/vision-mission.html)

The workshop is sponsored by University of Calabria, the DIMES department, the Italian IEEE SMC Chapter, and the IEEE MTT-28 Biological Effects and Medical Applications.

In this second edition the Workshop will include two Plenary Sessions and two Panel Sessions, focused on ‘Medicine & Healthcare’ and ‘Automation & Robotics’ applications.

PhD in ICT Day

The Workshop will host the event “PhD in ICT Day”, in the framework of the PhD program of Department of Computer, Modeling, Electronics and Systems Engineering (DIMES), with Prof. Giancarlo Fortino and Prof. Stefania Perri as Coordinator and Vice-Coordinator, respectively. The motivations, educational objectives, and structure of the doctoral course will be presented, by highlighting the international and industrial orientation, and hosting a Poster Session with the presentations of research studies carried by the PhD students. A ‘Best Poster Award’ will be assigned during the social dinner.
