\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n The first International Workshop on Trusted and Reliable Embedded Wireless Environments (TREWE 2023)<\/p>\n is a workshop focusing on the latest research results on the trustworthiness of embedded wireless environments,<\/p>\n which key issues enabling visionary scenarios such as the Internet of Things and Cyber-Physical Systems.<\/p>\n Accepted papers will be published in ACM as part of the EWSN 2023 proceedings.<\/p>\n Authors of accepted papers are expected to present their work in a plenary session as part of the main workshop program.<\/p>\n Proceedings will be indexed in the ACM Digital Library, SCOPUS, and other prominent digital libraries.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n FEATURE TOPIC: Trusted and Reliable Embedded Wireless Environments<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Embedded Wireless Devices (EWDs) are increasingly becoming pervasive, intelligent, and capable of supporting users<\/p>\n with potentially useful services by operating both autonomously and in cooperation with each other or human users<\/p>\n also across different environments. The rapid deployment of these devices has taken place at increasing risks<\/p>\n for the security and reliability of the services and even more in the presence of open and distributed systems<\/p>\n where most actors are mutually unreferenced with respect to their reliability and identity.<\/p>\n Therefore, to ensure and promote the deployment of EWDs, there is an increasingly pressing<\/p>\n need to create a comfortable atmosphere of trust in which they can operate safely,<\/p>\n an essential requirement for all Human-To-Machine (H2M) as well as Machine-To-Machine (M2M) interactions.<\/p>\n EWD can adopt cryptographic techniques and\/or trust and reputation systems, even working synergistically.<\/p>\n The former is effective with respect to privacy and authentication issues, while the latter is particularly<\/p>\n suitable to mitigate the risks of untrustworthy partners, regardless of their physical or virtual nature.<\/p>\n Unfortunately, computational resources, memory, autonomy, and other constraints can be arduous obstacles<\/p>\n to face, requiring specific approaches and expertise to reduce the vulnerabilities of EWDs to risks and threats.<\/p>\n In this setting, several models and solutions dedicated to such environments have been developed, and the purpose<\/p>\n of this workshop is to gather the most interesting and innovative proposals in the field of embedded wireless devices.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n SPECIFIC TOPICS<\/strong> of interest include but are not limited to:<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Architecture and models for trusted medical and healthcare EWD-based applications;<\/p>\n Architecture and models for trusted transportation and smart cities applications;<\/p>\n H2M and M2M EWD interactions;<\/p>\n Interoperable and cooperative EWDs;<\/p>\n Modeling and simulation for trusted industrial EWD-based applications;<\/p>\n Privacy and security in EWD applications and systems;<\/p>\n Secure and reliable IoT EWD-based ecosystems;<\/p>\n Secure processing, storage, management and communication of EWD data;<\/p>\n Service accountability in EWD systems;<\/p>\n Sustainability and Green solutions;<\/p>\n Trust and Reputation systems for EWDs, Trusted EWD group formation;<\/p>\n Trusted smart home EWD-based applications.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Special Issues <\/p>\n Selected papers will be invited on a Special issue of the MDPI journals<\/p>\n Electronics<\/strong> (IF: 2.690)<\/p>\n on<\/p>\n “Security and Trust in Internet of Things and Edge Computing<\/a><\/em>“<\/p>\n and<\/p>\n Big Data and Cognitive Computing <\/strong>(tracked for IF – this year)<\/p>\n on<\/p>\n “Security, Privacy, and Trust in Artificial Intelligence Applications<\/em><\/a>“<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n SUBMISSION<\/strong><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Submission to TREWE 2023 must be original (i.e., not previously published) and not currently under review<\/p>\n by any other conference or journal. Submissions related to the featured topic are especially welcome, but all<\/p>\n other submissions in the scope of TREWE are equally welcome, all submissions will be evaluated based on the same criteria.<\/p>\n Will be accepted 4-6 page papers.
